This Is How It Will Look Like When You Have Free Basics On Your Phone
Jitesh Goswami who is now in Philippines has uploaded screenshots of his phone running on Free Basics, this is how it will look like in India if Free Basics gets a green signal from TRAI.
Here’s his post –
In India everyone is confuse about whether to support “FREE BASICS” By FACEBOOK or not.
Since I am in Philippines & I can actually see what happens when you have Free Basics, I am sharing my own experience.
For those who don’t have time to go through the whole post, the moral of the story is IT’S AGAINST NET NEUTRALITY and there are no FREE things in this world. So stop sending those messages to TRAI.
1. This is the First step. You will have this icon of Free Basics in your Facebook.
2. Once you click on it you will be taken to Google Play App of the same.
3. Well YES It will have all the access to your personal information.
4. Terms & Conditions, which is the most crucial & tricky part we all will just click Accept as always
5. These are the websites you can access for Free. Learn about pregnancy and children. In India it might be Learn about wearing proper clothes to prevent Rape.
6. Remember all these websites are not decided by the Public. So we don’t have any control over choosing what we want for Free. So it will like the orange color Pickle which you will see in Indian Restaurant, it’s Free but nobody is eating it.
7. What those IIT Faculties were talking about is True.
8. No Movies websites or Youtube or Tube8 or Torrents.
9. Let’s see what you can see on Facebook since it’s Free. Well you can’t even see sometimes photos. You can just read the post but the photo will not load. Because FREE me sab kuchh thodi milega ???
10. Let’s see Messenger me kya free hai. Well you can’t even send or listen to voice message. Forget about Calling Free on Messenger.
11. If you are AIB fan like me and want to watch video you will get this message as soon as you click on video. So any video which is not originally uploaded on Facebook is not Free.
12. So the Conclusion is I am not going to send any message to TRAI unless and until Facebook let Indians decide what websites they want to use for Free. Thanks
